Since graduating in 1973, Dr Lowe has worked primarily in private practice and has gained a wealth of experience. Taking over his first practice in November 1975 in Findon as 23 year old was challenging and demanding, but proved to be a rewarding and successful experience. However growing up in the Northern Territory gave Wayne itchy feet, and he relocated to Cairns for a couple of years in the mid 80s before returning to Adelaide. After working as an assistant dentist in city practices, Wayne established Bridgewater Dental which grew to become a busy practice in a small town, much like the Wallaroo experience. As well as owning and operating his own practices he has worked in large group practices such as the McIntyre Road practice in Para Hills West with Dr Papageorgiou. He has also worked in the remote aboriginal communities west of Katherine, another professional challenge that he shared with Satera.

Wayne enjoys the wide range of treatments available in dentistry, with special interests in aesthetic dentistry, crowns and bridges, treatment for the aging population and preventive programs. The changes in dentistry over his career has stimulated his enthusiasm for the profession. A particular awareness has developed of the unique challenges of the senior members of our community, many of whom are retaining the majority of their natural dentition into their 70s and 80s. He is committed to ongoing education and continuing development.

Being the father of two adult children, Wayne can easily slide into chatting about how wonderful his three grandchildren are. A keen sportsman, he has an active interest in the Essendon Football Club and is a firm believer that Roger Federer is the ideal sporting role model. Living in Wallaroo is vastly different to growing up on a cattle station on the NT/SA border and Wayne has embraced it with enthusiasm.

Dr Papageorgiou graduated in 1986 and immediately commenced full time work at the McIntyre Road dental practice. This is a busy multi chair practice in Para Hills West and within 5 years Satera had risen from being an assistant dentist to becoming the sole owner of a thriving business. An astute businesswoman and excellent clinician, she also opened practices in Greenwith and Mawson Lakes which soon became successful and expanding practices. Satera and her husband Steve own a residence in the Wallaroo marina and were approached regarding setting up a dental practice in the Port road medical and pharmacy complex in Kadina that was built in late 2010. Dr Papageorgiou and Dr Wayne Lowe established Copper Coast Dental Kadina in April 2011. Satera and Wayne later formed the Maitland Dental practice in 2016. This was as a result of an approach by the Maitland Health Centreboard as the previous dentist had left the area.

It was the obvious progression to establish a practice in Wallaroo and thusCopper Coast Dental Wallaroo was opened in early 2017. This was an eventful year for Dr Papageorgiou as she decided to sell her Adelaide practice due to her increasing commitments on the Yorke Peninsula.

Professional development is something that Satera holds dear to her heart.She has actively pursued appropriate continuing education and dental courses throughout her career. As well as many short courses she completed a post graduate diploma in dental implantology. This has developed her implant skills significantly more than most general dentists and she is able to place dental implants in house. Dr Papageorgiou is a members of AADFA (Australian Association of Dental Facial Aesthetics) and has achieved competencies in the administration of dermal facial fillers and facial muscle relaxants (Botox).

Satera and Steve have three adult children. Their daughter Anna and her husband James worked as pharmacists for Newbery Chemists in Kadina and Wallaroo until moving back to Adelaide in 2018. Satera is a keen adventurer and has travelled to the Arctic and Antarctica, and is soon heading to Lapland to view the northern lights.Satera has a naturally vibrant nature and innate enthusiasm and she applies these traits to her professional and personal lives.
